Full-Time Funeral Director - Manalapan, NJ - Monmouth County

Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Licensed Funeral Director to join our team in Manalapan.

As a pillar of the Jewish community in Monmouth County, we provide families with dignified services rooted in tradition.

Our supportive team of Funeral Service Professionals is well respected. Collectively, we have many years of experience and diverse backgrounds in funeral service. We are committed to maintaining professionalism, integrity, attention to detail, and our chapel's reputation for service excellence.

Requirements:

• Licensure: Must hold a valid New Jersey Funeral Director's License (or be eligible for reciprocity).
• A valid driver’s license
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation (including nights and weekends as needed in your two-week rotation). We do not handle our own transfers while on call.
• Average level of technical proficiency. We will teach the systems required for the position.

Preferred candidate:

• Licensed Funeral Director with 5-10 years of experience. It is not necessary to have experience in a Jewish Funeral Home. We will teach customs and religious requirements on the job.
• Team-oriented and able to work well with other professionals towards our common goal.
• Deep empathy for the families that we serve and a sense of responsibility to guide them through this process with compassion, while maintaining your unique personality and building human connections with the family and in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Family Care: Lead arrangement conferences with families to plan all aspects of the funeral service, ensuring adherence to Jewish customs and personal preferences.
• Service Direction: Direct and coordinate funeral services and graveside ceremonies with poise and attention to detail.
• Preparation: We do not embalm at this funeral home. However, prep room duties are required, to include minimum preparation, dressing and casketing and cosmetics.
• Compliance: Maintain accurate records and ensure all local, state, and federal regulations regarding funeral service are strictly followed
• Community Relations: Act as a professional representative of Bloomfield-Cooper within the local and surrounding Jewish communities.
