Delta Variant Causes Spike in COVID-19 Cases in New Jersey; Masks Recommended
The delta variant of COVID-19 has caused a recent uptick in positive cases of the coronavirus in New Jersey and more deaths than had been reported a month ago, causing Governor Phil Murphy to recommend that both vaccinated and unvaccinated residents wear masks at indoor public gatherings where there might be increased risk of infection. The 2021 Convention and Expo is On!
The 2021 Funeral Directors Convention and Expo is on! The event, hosted by the New Jersey State Funeral Directors Association, is scheduled to take place at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. (Published June 10, 2021)

NJSFDA Successful in Pandemic Waiver Continuation
The New Jersey State Funeral Directors Association has been successful in obtaining the State Board of Mortuary Science of New Jersey’s approval to continue recognizing several regulatory waivers, modifications and statutory interpretations implemented during the early phase of the COVID-19 pandemic. Deaths in NJ Remain Higher Than the Statistical Norm
The number of deaths in New Jersey during April 2021 remained higher than the statistical norm, the sixth straight month of elevated fatalities as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to be felt by the state’s residents. (Published May 28, 2021)
