For Students

Intern Membership

Most mortuary science programs encompass the managerial and technical aspects of the funeral service profession. Students will be expected to develop skills in embalming, arrangement making, and conducting a funeral. Upon completion of the educational and internship requirements, students will be required to pass a State Board examination to become licensed.

With the right skill set and level of education, employment opportunities exist within funeral homes, hospitals, medical school facilities and medical examiner offices.

Scholarships are available at the national and state levels. Each state has different licensure requirements, so be sure to check with the state association you wish to practice in for more information.
