Seminar Policies and Procedures

Accreditation

Seminars are designed for educational purposes only. Solicitation is strictly prohibited. The opinions expressed by the speaker(s) are not necessarily those of the New Jersey State Funeral Directors Association, Inc. (NJSFDA), its affiliated entities or Thanexus, Inc.

All seminars are accredited through the New Jersey Funeral Service Education Corporation (NJFSEC). Seminars are evaluated by its board of trustees to ensure quality and relevance to funeral service. Seminars are submitted for accreditation to the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice (APFSP) and the appropriate state licensing authorities.

Preregistration Discount Deadline

Preregistration discounts are honored up to three (3) business days prior to the seminar unless specified otherwise on the promotional materials.

Early Check In

Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the published start time of the seminar to allow sufficient time for check in and badge pickup at the registration desk. Photo ID required.

Confirmations

Registration confirmations will be mailed to all who preregistered. Those who do not receive confirmation at least one (1) business day prior to the seminar should contact the NJSFDA office at 800.734.3712.

Continuing Education Verification

All attendees receive a barcoded badge at check in. The badge must be worn at all times. It will be scanned at the beginning and end of the session, and any time attendees exit or enter the session room.

The NJFSEC is not permitted to grant CEUs to attendees who arrive more than 15 minutes after the seminar's published start time, leave more than 15 minutes prior to the seminar's conclusion or otherwise are out of the session room for more than 15 minutes. No exceptions. Completion of a program examination may be required in order to earn continuing education credit.

Credit verification certificates will be mailed two weeks following the seminar.

Funeral Directors Convention and Expo

Credit verification certificates will be mailed 30 days following the Convention close.

Certified Celebrant Training

Credit verification certificates will be mailed 30 days following the conclusion of the training.

Cancellation/Refunds

Requests for refunds will be honored by the NJFSEC up to seven (7) days following the seminar. A $10 cancellation fee will be deducted from all refunds. If the training is spread over multiple days, the seven (7) days will be counted following the last presentation of the group of seminars.

Funeral Directors Convention and Expo

Requests for refunds will be honored by the NJSFDA until the date published in the marketing materials. A $10 cancellation fee will be deducted from all "full access" and "exhibit hall only" refunds. Special event ticket sales are nonrefundable.

Thanexus Sponsored Seminar

Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to the seminar will be charged a $25 cancellation fee against the worksite's stockholder equity account.

Certified Celebrant Training

Payment for celebrant training is nonrefundable. If the original registrant is unable to attend, payment may be transferred to another attendee for that year's training.
