Eligibility is limited to:

  • Military members who die while on active duty.
  • Honorably discharged retirees and veterans who completed one or more terms of enlistment.
  • Reservists who completed the initial obligated service and left under conditions other than dishonorable.
  • Those discharged due to disabilities incurred or aggravated in the line of duty.

At the request of the veteran's family, each eligible veteran receives a military funeral honors ceremony including the folding and presenting of the United States burial flag and the playing of Taps.
