Organ Sharing Networks

The NJ Organ & Tissue Sharing Network (NJOTSN) based in New Providence and the Gift of Life Donor Program (GLDP) headquartered in Philadelphia are the only two federally-sanctioned non-profit organ procurement organizations to serve New Jersey. Both groups are members of the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS).

While a number of tissue banks operate in New Jersey, these organizations are the only groups that can procure vital organs for immediate transplantation.

Besides managing actual procurement activities, both organizations offer bereavement and grief counseling services to donor families, administer public and professional donor awareness education programs, organize speaking programs and distribute donor literature.
