Cremation Authorizations

In order to proceed with cremation, the funeral director will ask you to sign an authorization form. The form will help you identify the individuals with the primary right to control the final disposition as well as grant permission to the funeral home to perform the cremation service(s).

It is important to remember, that according to New Jersey Law (N.J.S.A. 26:7-18.1) no person shall be allowed to cremate an individual unless at least 24 hours has elapsed from the time of death as recorded on the death certificate to the time of cremation.

For more information on authorizing a funeral, see the "Controlling Your Funeral" section.
